You can find our adoptable cats on Adopt-A-Pet and PetFinder, as well as on our Instagram!

We also have adoptable kittens at Bushwick Bark on Knickerbocker.

All our cats are vaccinated (age appropriate), dewormed, treated for fleas/ticks, tested for FIV/FELV and are negative unless otherwise noted, microchipped, and sterilized (if old enough). We will arrange later dates for the spay/neuter of kittens who are too young for sterilization at time of adoption.

Kitten Adoption Policy

All kittens under 5 months must be adopted with another cat (of any age) or go to a home that already has another kitten-loving animal. There are no exceptions to this policy, which is for the best interest of the kitten to ensure they have a healthy social development!

Special Care Kitties

Most "special care" kitties don't need more than home adjustments and closer attention.

Once you have decided which cat you want to adopt, please complete an Adoption Application. Please answer all application questions - we cannot consider incomplete applications. If you are a current pet owner, please provide your current veterinarian name and number.

Please provide the first and last names of your references and tell us how you know them (please note: one of your references should be a family member.) We will call all references, so please alert them to expect a call from us.

It typically takes several days to review an application and call references. While we strive to complete our reviews as quickly as possible, please be patient as there is sometimes a delay!

After we review your application, we will contact you to set up a meeting with the cat (due to Covid, most meetings are currently video chats). If you choose to commit to adopting one of our lovable cats, you will complete and sign an adoption contract.

Depending on available resources, we will deliver the cat to your home (which requires a home check). You are expected to pick up (receive) a new pet within 2 days from application approval so our fosters can take in new cats.

What to Expect

We recommend all new cat owners review this adoption handbook for suggestions and advice on cat care.

WaGG Happy Tails!

There is a $175 adoption fee for all cats and kittens, payable by cash or Venmo (@whiskersagogo). This fee covers the cost of vaccinations, testing, deworming, microchipping, spay/neuter, and more. The fee should be submitted prior to or at the time of the pet pickup.

Applicants must be 21 years or older to adopt. The person applying must be the primary caretaker of the cats/kittens. Adopters and references need to be able to communicate in English, as we do not have capabilities in other languages.

Please make sure that pets are allowed in your building and that any roommates are aware of and happy about a new pet at home.

Please be prepared to provide a copy of your driver’s license or ID to confirm identity and address.

We reserve the right to decline applications which we determine to be not in the best interest of our cats and kittens.
